Dear Fellow Artist,
I’d like to invite you to participate in an event that I’m organizing at Hauser Wirth & Schimmel. The idea is simple: a gathering and photograph of LA female and female identifying contemporary artists at an important exhibition featuring women sculptors.
The gathering will take place in the courtyard of the gallery on the Sunday, Aug. 28, prior to the last week of the exhibition ‘Revolution in the Making: Abstract Sculpture by Women: 1947 – 2016.’ RSVPs are required so we can organize appropriately. A sign-in sheet at the event will document attendance and a photograph of the entire group will be taken. Each participant will receive a link to the final photo for her archive.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the challenges and rewards of being fully present in the different parts of our lives. This event is an opportunity to take a snapshot of all the female and female identifying working artists in the LA contemporary art community. It is an opportunity for us to capture a moment where we stand and be present with each other in all of our diversity.
With kind regards,
